The master thesis research project is intended to bring the student in close contact with a multinational and multidisciplinary research environment of a research institute in academia or in industry. The student will be assigned a relevant research project and work in close collaboration with PhD students, postdocs and professors. The research project is finalized with a public presentation of a Master’s Thesis where it took place.

The master thesis (30 ECTS) will be evaluated by a jury of at least 3 persons: the promotor, the daily supervisor and one or more assessors. The students are evaluated on three aspects:

• The process: the work during the year (ability to work independently, critical sense, inventivity, creativity, degree of complexity)
• The product: the final product and/or the text (scientific content, style, language, care, legibility, structure)
• The presentation and oral examination (style, language, care, structure, completeness, timing).
