Technische Universiteit Delft & Universiteit Leiden are
a joint partner, running a joint MSc programme in NanoScience since 2003.
The TUD/UL partner offers courses covering the full width of the nanoscience
spectrum. A strong component biophysics is available in Leiden. The Delft
contribution is mostly in the field of quantum systems. Within the EMM
consortium, Technische Universiteit Delft & Universiteit Leiden focus
on molecular electronics & quantum systems within the Theme “Nanoscience”
and on biomolecular systems within the Theme “Biophysics”.
Technische Universiteit Delft & Universiteit Leiden are pioneers in
nanoscience research. Recently the TUD nanoscience research groups were
named the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience Delft through a prestigious grant
of the Kavli foundation. The new Kavli Institute will perform research
on nanoscience in an increasingly wider circle of activity around the
current focus on nanoelectronics. The Institute is particularly interested
in expanding the interfaces with chemistry and biology. For years Technical
University Delft & University Leiden have been collaborating on
various research-projects. Their collaboration on education is expanding
at a fast pace.
